Hello, dear. I adore your blog & feel your advice is spot-on. Now I have a question of my own: a former friend did something very mean-spirited to a dear friend which, quite frankly, disgusted me. His personality changed & now he's the type of person I don't really want to associate with (he's very arrogant & doesn't think anything of hurting others for his enjoyment.) The problem is, he's my boyfriend's roommate & in my classes. How can I be polite & civil to him without condoning his actions?

First off, thank you so much for the kind words!

Exactly what you said, by being polite and civil. I would also suggest calmly mentioning that you took issue with whatever happened. You do not have to be best friends but being cordial is a courtesy that should be allowed to everyone you come into contact with.
